Weronika Bisha - W23

Art has always been a big part of my life. Ever since I was a little kid, I loved having a pencil and sketchbook in hand—it felt magical, like entering a different world. My dad, who also had a passion for sketching, was my first inspiration. Like him, I'm a self-taught artist.

For a while, art was just a hobby, but life got busy, and my art tools were left in a drawer for years. Then in 2019, everything changed. I picked up a book called I Never Knew That About London, filled with rough sketches of London buildings. Inspired, I started copying them to get back into drawing, creating quirky sketches.

In March 2020, just before COVID hit, I attended an art workshop in London where I painted with acrylics for the first time, recreating Van Gogh's Starry Night. That night reignited my passion. I dived into acrylic painting, focusing on floral scenes. I sold my first painting and soon joined Church Lane Gallery in Banbury, where I displayed and sold more of my work. My paintings also featured in the Art Mill in Banbury during Oxfordshire Art Week. I even started painting furniture!

Eager to explore more techniques, I decided to focus on pencil, pen, and digital portraits. I held my first solo exhibition at Art Cafe in Oxford in December 2023 and continue to improve my skills. You can follow my art journey on Instagram.
